Geography of Daegu

The geography of Daegu is dominated by the natural wonders which have become the hallmark of Daegu topography. The Sincheon Stream flows through the midrib of the city from the south to the north. This stream is a tributary to its mother river Geumho River which cover the northern part of the city from east to west. In the course of the flow of the Geumho River it joins the Nakdong River. The Nakdong River surrounds the western border of the city from north to south. The superb natural conditions have brought in loads of development in the history and the past and the present lifestyle of the citizens of Daegu. The rivers have always been the lifeline of the city and have had lots of influence on the city. The geography of Daegu has a sizable influence on the industrial development of the city as well.
The location of Daegu is at 28’~128?46’east in longitude and 35?46’~ 36?01’ north in latitude. The location of the city also plays an important role in shaping up of the climate of the region. Daegu is 300km away from Seoul and about 120km away from Busan. The city has a brilliant connectivity to other parts of the city as the Seoul-Busan Highway, the Seoul-Busan Railroad, and several other highways pass through Daegu.
