Daegu has a varied cultural life, with a calendar that is choc-a-bloc with events, and celebrations all year round. Whether they are just sports matches, or concerts, live theatre and dance, whether it be festivals and religious ceremonies, or exhibitions and art and craft events, whether it be , agriculture or harvest festivals or fashion fiestas, Daegu has something or the other to offer throughout the year. One of the most famous annual celebrations on Daegu’s events calendar is the Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu. The Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, is an event that was kicked off as an ancillary plan to the municipal master plan entitled “Milano Project”. The Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu was originally aimed to show the entire world that Daegu was a large textile producer, and bring it to the attention of industrialists and normal people alike. The Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, is a bi-annual event, which is held twice every year, in Spring and in Autumn. The Spring Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, also includes a part of Daegu’s International Textile fair, in the form of “Preview in Daegu”. The Autumn Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, is held at such a time that it coincides with the Dalgubeol Festival. The major events that are conducted during the Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, are – a sewing competition, a textile designs contest, a swim-wear show, a Hanbok (a Korean traditional costume) exhibition, and a traditional embroidery exhibition among many other events. The Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, is held at the Fashion Center Korea, and the Daegu Culture & Arts Center, which form the main venues of the event. During this festival, the Daegu City Government invites overseas buyers to come and see the Textile & Fashion Festival, Daegu, so that they may impress these international purchasers, and thus induce the export of local textile products.
