In earlier days, a Buddhist temple called Inheungsa situated in the area, where at present, the Bon-ri Residence of Nampyeong Moon Family, Daegu is situated and this is the reason why this residential area is known as Inheung Village. Originating from the Nampyeong area, the Moon family spearheaded the development of this area. By improving the infrastructure of this area, they constructed roads and making rice paddies in this area. The 18th generation grandson of a renowned Korean Moon Ik-jeom (who initially introduced the cottonseed to Korea from China in the 15th century), Moon Gyeong-ho set up this village. This village comprises nine traditional houses and two pavilions in their original structures, which are the example of the architectural style of Joseon Dynasty. Gwanggeodang Lecture Hall, Subongjeongsa Pavilion and Insumungo Library are some of the famous representative buildings of this village. Insumungo Library is a house of almost 10,000 volumes of priceless books with a study and stack rooms. The Bon-ri Residence of Nampyeong Moon Family, Daegu was designated as the regional Folklore Material No. 3.
