Climb Palgongsan
Palgongsan is a mountain that stands about a forty-five minute bus ride outside
Daegu, and makes for a great hike. Simply getting away from the smog and the
traffic noise, and the bustle, is relaxing enough.
Satisfy yourself with delicious Galbi
Galbi is a conventional Korean-style barbeque meal, where each table has an
individual grill, and the marinated meat of your choice is brought to you for
you to cook for yourself and your friends.
Norebang after-hours insanity
A night out with Korean friends will often end up in a personal singing room,
or "noreibang", which are a lot like Japanese Karaoke. Just enjoy
the night.
Hike up Apsan
Along with Palgongsan, Apsan is a prominent hiking spot amongst the huge and
avid hiking crowd in Daegu. It takes such a very long time to reach the top.
Apsan is thought to be more beautiful than Palgongsan.
Taekwondo
If you do come and stay in Korea for an extended period of time you should
try a martial art. There are several to choose from in Korea: Taekwondo, Kick
boxing and Gomdo. However, it can be hard to find a master who speaks English,
but if you do it is a great experience. It will help you learn more about the
Korean culture and traditions.
Daegu Amusement Park
The Daegu amusement park, which is the easiest to find is also home to Daegu
Tower and the highest point in the city. The tower gives a great view.
