The blooming of the Cherry Blossoms in large numbers is a miraculous spectacle of nature and in Daejeon; the blossoming is celebrated in the form of the Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival . The Festival generally takes place in the month of April when Sintanjin basks in the glory of the colorful Cherry Blossoms in full bloom.
The Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival in Daejeon is the largest spring festival held in the city. The Festival reflects the local customs and age old culture of the city of Daejeon and is very close to heart of the common folk of Daejeon.
Features of Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival in Daejeon
• The Festival takes place in the surrounding neighborhood of the Korean Tobacco and Ginseng Corp. Building. The sight of the golden bells and the cherry blossoms are lovely to watch.
• The Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival continues over a period of three to four days and comprises of many accompanying events like Spring Flower Star contest, farm land band performances, juggling and painting. The Festival is a great opportunity to bring everybody together and have some fun. Even the handicaps are left out of the celebration.
• A distinctive feature of the Sintanjin Cherry Blossom Festival is the Daedeok Keunsarang Wedding ceremony. The setting and the atmosphere is perfect to match the romantic occasion of getting united for a lifetime.

The cherry blossom festival is the venue for a local food festival too. During this time around 300 stalls are put up which sells delicious local delicacies. Since the festival takes place near the Ginseng tea manufacturing site, the ginseng tea is provided free to all the visitors
