Yuseong Spa Daejeon

Yuseong Spa is steeped with wonderful fables and loads of curious cures for special kinds of ailments. This is the spa locale of Bongmyeong-dong. The spa is not only exotic in its services but the very location of it makes it all the more attractive.
A folklore says during the end of Baekje Era an anxious mother who was in search of cure for her son who was wounded in a battle of the Silla Dynasty, saw an injured crane with a hurt wing on a snow covered field, which plunged itself into a small lake of water and emerged as healthy as before. The mother got curious and dipped her son's injured limb in the same puddle, and astonishingly the young lad got back his fitness.
After this miraculous event the woman built up a small hut and invited lots of injured people to take a dip in the holy water. Legendary Joseon dynasty kings, King Taejo and King Taejong also visited this sacred spot and took a bath in the holy waters.
People have thronged the open spa here for many years for its curative qualities. It was not until the 1970s that the place has undergone a rapid development. Yuseong Spa is now considered to be one of the happening tourist spots of Daejeon.
Now there are more than one hundred luxurious accommodation facilities in and around the Yuseong Spa. Tourists wont have to take much trouble in getting a nice , cozy hotel or motel to stay back at this phenomenal location.
The prime attraction of the place is the Yuseong Hot Spring which is a basically alkali radium spring whose water temperature is kept within 42 and 55 degree centigrade. The magical qualities of the warm water is a remedy to skin diseases, neuritis, digestive disorders, obesity, and gynecological diseases. Improving blood circulation and relief from stress are a long term cure offered by the warmth of the water.
The Yuseong Spa has now become a symbolic urban spa of Korea. Luxurious accommodations , skyscrapers and plush restaurants encircle the vicinity of the spa.
