Daejeon boasts to be the fifth largest city in South Korea among the six major cities of Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, and Gwangju. Sprawling across 539.83 square kilometers, Daejeon is home to a population of 1,438,778. The city is divided into five boroughs, Yuseong-gu, Dong-gu, Seo-gu, Daedeok-gu and Jung-gu. - Chungnam is a major attraction amongst tourists thronging Daejeon. It makes for an exotic subaltern tour. The principal sites in this area are Gyeryongsan National Park, Gongju National Museum, Munyeong wangneung (tomb of King Munyeong), Baengmagang (River) and Daedunsan (Mountain).

- Munyeong wangneung (tomb of King Munyeong) was constructed when drainage work began to block water penetration into the Songsanri old tombs No. 5 and 6.
