Popular Destinations in Daejeon:
- Chungnam is a major attraction amongst tourists thronging Daejeon. It
makes for an exotic subaltern tour. The principal sites in this area are Gyeryongsan
National Park, Gongju National Museum, Munyeong wangneung (tomb of King Munyeong),
Baengmagang (River) and Daedunsan (Mountain).
- Gyeryongsan mountain comprises of the main peak, Cheonhwangbong, Sambulbong,
Yeoncheonbong, Gwangeumbong and dozens of peaks, fantastic rocks and stones,
Yongmun Fallsl on the west, Eunseon Falls on the east and Amyongchu and Sutyongchu
on the south.
- Gongju National Museum started its operations with the establishment
of Gongju Historic Sites Preservation Association and its transformation to
Gongju Historic Sites Promotion Association in 1940
- Munyeong wangneung (tomb of King Munyeong) was constructed when drainage
work began to block water penetration into the Songsanri old tombs No. 5 and
6.
- Chungbuk in Daejeon is home to popular destinations like Chungjuho Lake,
Mt. Woraksan National Park, Suanbo Hot Springs and Mt. Songnisan National Park.
- Yuseong in Daejeon is renowned for its high tech industries, Daejeon
Expo '93, Daedeok Science Valley and the Yuseong Special Tourism District. Right
from the time of the Baekje Kingdom, the place has been well known for its natural
springs and spas which has been the mainstay for tourism in the region.
- Seo-gu in Daejeon is a major tourist site known for its parks, temples
and much historical significance. In addition, the area is a thriving center
of finance, banking, telecommunications and administration.
