History of Archery- Archery can best been described as the practice of using a bow to shoot arrows. If one traces the pages of history one would easily find that Archery has been the popular mode of combat and hunting. A person who practices archery may be described as an archer. On the other hand one who is fond of the game is called a toxophilite. The concept of Bow and an Arrow is very old and was invented to facilitate the act of hunting. Later on it was adopted as an instrument of warfare. Archery, over the years, has developed into an aggressive sport. Nevertheless, the use of archery in the act of hunting is still prevalent. Archery in South Korea is an immensely popular game and attracts tourists from different parts of the globe. It may be mentioned here that the most popular form of archery worldwide is called target archery.


Archery in South Korea- The goddess of archery never seem to betray South Korea. South Korean men and women occupy the top seats in the Olympic-style recurve-bow division. In the year 2006, South Korea won the women's team title of Asiad archery tournament after beating its strong contender China in Doha.

The game of Archery in South Korea has made Korea proud by bagging a number of awards at the national as well as the international level.
