South Korea - Daegu - Incheon - Jeju - Seoul - Daejeon
The South Korea Subways are the fastest and most efficient means of transport in a number of cities such as Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon and Gwangju. The services make getting around speedy and convenient. The Subways of these cities have become an integral part of the transportation here. The Subway services in Seoul, for example, connect the capital city with the suburbs, the adjoining satellite cities and surrounding areas. The trains depart every 2.5 to 3 minutes during the rush hours and peak office timings. These provide commuters a safe and comfortable mode of transport. At other times the trains run every 4 to 6 minutes. The fares of the Seoul Subway Services start from 900 KWR in cash and 800 KWR for the regulars' cards and increase depending on the distance covered and destination reached. The Seoul Metropolitan Subway offers 11 lines for the commuters to travel by and an additional 2 are under construction. Busan too boasts of its own subway, the Busan Subway with trains running on 3 lines. One more line is under construction. Daegu Metropolitan Subway has 2 lines while the Gwangju Subway and Daejeon Subway have a single line each that are partially operational. The Subway operators of Seoul include Korail (which operates a section of Line 1, 3 and 4, the Bundang Line, and the Yongsan-Deokso Line), Seoul Metro (handling operations on Line 2, and parts of Line 1, 3, 4) and Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (which looks into operations on Line 5, 6, 7, and 8). Busan Subways is entirely handled by Busan Transportation Corporation while teh Daegu Metropolitan Subway Corporation looks after the entire subway system in Daegu. Incheon Rapid Transit Corporation operates whole system in Incheon which has been integrated into the Seoul Subway system. Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation and Daejeon Express Transit Corporation operate whole subway systems at Gwangju and Daejeon respectively.
