Jung-gu or ‘central district’ is located in Incheon of South Korea. Jun-gu, Incheon is a place with picturesque beauty of outstretched shores…calm sea meeting a tranquil horizon. It is also one of those districts of Incheon which is famous for its historic footprints form the late 19th. In Korea’s history, when the country first opened to the outside world, Incheon and especially Jung-gu served as the gateway to the West. Jung-gu, Incheon is now the center of activities such as tourism, transportation, information, logistics, commerce, shopping and leisure. The seagull is the district bird of Jung-gu, Incheon. It is usually seen in the beaches soaring high in the sky. It symbolizes mankind’s lofty ideals that are greatly emphasized by the district. The district of Jungu-gu, Incheon is marked by a wide number of tourist attractions. Some of them are: Chinatown in Jung-gu, Incheon offers the widest range of authentic Chinese cuisine and is flocked by foodies all over the country. The magnificent building is now also a historic site and bears witness of the cultural and culinary exchange between China and Korea. Other restaurants include Pungmi and Jageumseong. Korea’s first modern style park, the Jayu Park is also located here. The park serves as a viewpoint to some part of downtown, harbor facilities and the whole ocean. The cherry blossom festival is held here every spring. The Wolmi Island, the Youngjong do island, the Simi Island, the Yougyu, Muui Island is also located here. Jung-gu, Incheon is also home to the Incheon International Airport. The beaches of Jung-gu, Incheon offer a lifetime experience. They are 1.5km long and the foreshore is not muddy, thus giving you the chance to run around. The sunsets at the blue horizons are one of the bests and a great feast to the eyes of a tired city-dweller.
