Muuido Island is in Incheon of South Korea and is quite near Yeongjongdo Island where the Incheon International Airport is also located. It is also often called the Mui Island.

Muuido, in Korean, means "the dress of a dancer". Very appropriately named, Muuido Island, Incheon is a very pretty place with outstretched beaches lined by the cool calm sea. Muuido Island is so scenic a place that it has served as a filming location for the drama "Stairway to Heaven" and the movie "Silmido”.

Reaching Muuido Island, Incheon is not at all a arduous task. From City bus No. 306 bound for Eurwang-ri takes off from Incheon station or Dong-Incheon station (Seoul Subway Line 1). Getting off at Geojampo a 10 min walk will take you to Jamjinnaru Ferry Terminal. From here, take a ferry straight to Muuido Island. The Muuido Island, Incheon is also served by a frequent car ferry which crosses the narrow channel separating the island from the mainland.

The two beaches in Muuido Island, Incheon are Silmi Beach and Hanagae Beach.

Although in the past, it used to be a lonely island, Muuido Island, Incheon cannot be said to be a remote island any more as it is only 18km off Incheon Port. The island is a cozy one and faraway from the regular noises of the traffic filled city.
The Muuido Island, Incheon is about 9.4 square km and its coastline stretches 31.6km. With a population of 400 residents, it cannot be said to be a very small island. Muuido Island, Incheon has scenic sandy beaches like the Hanagae and Silmi. There are hiking courses at Mt. Horyonggoksan and Guksabong Peak. Muuido Island, Incheon also offers many spots to enjoy fishing and shellfish catching that allows visitors to spend gratifying time there.

Delightful rocks, such as Madang (yard) Rock, Gorae (whale) Rock and Bucheo (Buddha) Rock can be seen from here. There is a thick forest and as there are no steep hills on the Muuido Island, Incheon, hiking can really be a pleasurable experience.
