The stroke of daily tide determines whether the visitors have a dark wetland or a white sandy beach. Masiran Beach is given distinctive touches by tall pine trees fringing the coast of the island. If you happen to go strolling along the coast, do drop in at one of the many pojang-machas or Outdoor drinking tents, the grilled shell fish should not be missed. Though most of these stalls have come under a heavy hand from the Masiran Beach officials, few still survive close to the coast.
