Mt. Manisan, Incheon, is the highest mountain in Ganghwa-do. It is at 496.4 metres above the sea level. In 1977 it has been designated as a National tourist site. On reaching the top one can have panoramic view of the surrounding Gyeonngi-do area and the West Sea. The paths along the mountains are well cut out and organized which makes hiking easier.

The three mountain peaks stand abreast each other with Chamseongdan standing at the top of the central peak. It is renowned for its scenic beauty. Dangdun chose this place to offer sacrifices to the heavens. Ceremonies commemorating Dangdun are held here even today on the Foundation Day of Korea. The Lord’s Table is located just in between the Mt. Baekdusan and Mt. Hallasan. The islands of the west sea and the outline of the inland scenery can be symbolically viewed. The kings of Goguryeo, Baekjeand Silla have purportedly used this spot to offer sacrifices to the heavens. The famous Jeongsusa temple from the Goryeo Period and Chamseongdan is situated at the top of this mountain. To have a magnificent view of the sunrise, move to the Daewungjeon. This is a very rare sight in the West Sea region. The forest is thick near the temple and the design of the Lotus Flower is special. On the eastern side of Mt. Manisan is the Jeongsusa.
The Yangban Trail and the Stairway Trail are the two trails of Mt. Manisan. The stairway path has a steep incline but gives a wonderful view once reached atop. It is a favorite for the climbers who can have a birds-eye view of the mountain and the sea. The Yangban Path has an ideal climb for general climbers.
