The Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum displays the relics in relation to the folk lore and the natural history of the native plants and animals. The natural history of the geological features, the marine life finds an important part in the museum exhibition. The conventional lifestyle of the people living in the island of Jeju ober the years since the time life began in the island has been showcased in the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum.

The Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum welcomes you not with stone sculptures, but with the help of stuffed animals, who look like the marine animals, which are as much a part of the island as are the islanders. The exhibits of the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum is divided into four exhibition halls, which consists of 3,000 folklore exhibits. The exhibits are just like the real thatched houses of the forefathers of Cheju. You will see the ancient garments in display.

The Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum also displays petrological features, marine vegetation, animals, insects, fishes that are found only in the Jeju Island.

If you want to know more about the folklore and tradition of Jeju Island then you can also visit the Jeju Folk Museum, which exhibits all the materials used by the natives of the Island. It has preserved about 10,000 artifacts and 3,000 bamboo instruments that were used by the people long time back.

You can travel to the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum by taxi. If you are near the downtown area of Jeju then you can reach the museum within 10 minutes. The admission fee for the adults to get inside the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum is 1,100 won, which lessens down to 800 won if they are in a group. For the youths it is 500 won, which again lessens to 300 won if they are traveling in group.

The museum remains open from 8.30 in the morning to 6.30 in the evening. However, it remains closed in the first of January, in the Lunar New Year and the following two days, on the anniversary of the museum on the 24rth of May, in the Harvest Moon Festival and the next day and lastly in the Fumigation disinfection days.
