Yeomiji Botanical Garden is one of the major tourist attractions in Jeju Island. Erected in 1989,Yomiji Arboretum stands in the middle of the famous Jungmun Tourist Complex in Jeju. The spacious greenhouse of this well-known botanical garden in Jeju has a rich collection of more than 2,000 different kinds of flowering plants and trees. The exterior of the greenhouse preserves over 1,700 types of semi-tropical floras. Yomiji Arboretum is the biggest of its type in Asia. This famous botanical garden is adorned with traditional landscape designs of France, Italy, Japan and Korea.
Yomiji Arboretum also offers a 60-seat tourist train for its visitors. This specially designed train operates between the greenhouse and the gardens.
At the center of the greenhouse there stands a 38-meter tall observation tower. Mara-do, the southernmost island of Korea, becomes visible, once you are on top of the tower, provided the weather is fine.
The collection of tropical orchids inside the Yomiji Arboretum will surely add to your pleasure.
