Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju is also referred as “God’s Pond.” The legendary story behind this waterfall says that it was named such after the seven fairies, which serves the King of Heaven came down to the pond below the waterfall, by stairs of cloud and bathed in its pristine water. Surrounded with rich variety of flora, the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju creates a mesmerizing view. Designated as natural monument no. 163 there are many rare plants like Dampalsu trees, brambles, Songyeopnan, Gusiljappam trees, Sanyuja trees, and camellias. You have to take a long walk through dense forest path to reach this heavenly site of Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju. The magnificent gushing sound of 22m high, 12m wide, and 20m in deep waterfalls would leave you enthralled. Designated as natural monument no. 27, the pristine and deep water of this waterfall is renowned as a habitat for Mutae eels. You must not miss the Annual Seven Fairies Festival held here in every May. At night the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju is a real romantic escape for lovers. “Hidden Face,” a formation of rocks, could be seen through the night lights, which otherwise is very difficult to see during day time. The Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju remains open for public viewing from sunrise to 1:30 am from November to February and to 11 pm from March to October. Local transports are available in ample amount for traveling to and from Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Jeju. Buses could be plied from Compound Intercity Bus Terminal of Jeju. Those heading towards the 516 Western Highway and Western Industrial Highway will take you to Seogwipo Intercity Bus Terminal. From here take another local city bus that will take you to Seogwipo Drugstore. It’s a five minutes walk from here to the waterfall. You can also hire a taxi or a private car and follow the road direction to reach Cheonjiyeon Waterfall.
