The Gana Art Gallery is situated on Mt. Bukhansan in Seoul, South Korea. This gallery was designed by the internationally famous architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte and has the biggest floor space in the Korea. Flaunting off its western, modern design and an optimally created in bed, the Gana Art Gallery is itself an art.

The Gana Art Gallery was established in 1983 and since then the gallery has organized three hundred exhibitions where international as well as Korean artists have participated. The Gana Art Gallery concentrates on contemporary arts of the 20th century and also Western Arts. This art gallery has played a major role in introducing international art to Korea.

The exhibitions include contemporary and modern art like painting, video art, sculpture, installation and also contemporary photography. In fact from year 2001, the Gallery has started the annual 'International Photo Festival.'

This significant event has created opportunities for the mainstream contemporary artists to exhibit their work in Korea. As a result of this they are gaining the attention of the world. Such renowned artists who participated in these kinds of festivals and exhibitions were Andreas Thomas Ruff, Gursky, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Kenneth Noland, Sam Francis, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein Vanessa Beecroft, Elger Esser Thomas Struth, Vik Muniz, Candida Höfer and others.

One such interesting exhibition that took place from Dec 15 - Jan 7, 2007 was The Year of Golden Pig. In Korea pigs are traditionally regarded as a fortunate animal that symbolizes wealth and luck for Korean people. The year 2007 is called the 'Year of Golden Pig'. It is said that this Golden Pig Year comes every 600 years according to the Yin & Yang theories of and the Five Elements.

In order to celebrate such occasion, Ganaart Gallery gathered seven different remarkable artists and presented an amazing range of pig paintings and sculpture from the 'Pig Stories' of each artist.
