Though the Kumbo Art Museum was initially opened in 1989, the museum was later shifted to a larger area in the year 1996. See the beautiful exhibits of the Kumbo Art Museum that features the creations of the various promising new comers. In addition to these you can also witness the creations of the several accomplished artists.
If you visit the museum you get a chance to see the other small and the diversified museums that are located in and around the place. The B1 floor of the Kumbo Art Museum features art work of the new artists while the 1st and the 2nd floors mainly display the exhibitions. Every year the museum is blessed about its allegiance with a host of foreign artists who display their artifacts in the museum. Every year there quiet a number of official invitation exhibitions of seven artists. These are the special artists who have influenced Korean art in a great manner.
The 3rd floor of the museum houses a small concert hall that is commonly known as the Kumho Recital Hall.
Location
The Kumbo Art Museum is located at Sagan- dong of Jongno-gu. The museum lies
on the eastern side of the Gyeongbokgung palace.
Opening Hours
The Kumbo Art Museum is open from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evenings.
On holidays the museum remains open from 11 am to 6:30 pm.
The Kumbo Art Museum remains close on all Mondays. In addition to these do not
visit the museum on 1st January and on Lunar New Year.
Admission
The admission fees actually differ according to the different programmes that
are hosted in the museum.
Facilities
There are parking zone, art shop, café and restroom for the public who
visit the museum.
Getting there
The Kumbo Art Museum can be accessed from the Anguk Station Exit No. 1 from
where you need to walk to the Intersection point of Gyeongbokgung. From there
the museum is only 10 minutes walk.
