Lotte World Folk Museum

The Lotte World Folk Museum is a Korean Folk Museum located within the famed recreational park called Lotte World in Seoul, South Korea. The museum showcases more than 5000 years of Korean history and holds on display souvenirs and relics that hold significance in Korean culture. The museum however, is a far cry from an uninteresting cultural display. A huge effort has gone into holding on to the attention of the viewers. A number of creative devices such as animations, multi vision and magic vision have been used and these interest even the young visitors. Song and dance performances and the wedding vestibule are the highlights of the museum. Audience participation is encouraged in all the performances here. The history exhibition at the Lotte World Folk Museum is a sojourn into the rich past, and provides us a glimpse of the colorful civilization of South Korea, its culture and heritage. A hall is fitted with the latest audiovisual equipment and creates multi vision images of the country's map, its physical relief and ritual performances.

The admission fee to the Lotte World Folk Museum is 2,000 KWR for those between the ages of 4 & 13, 3, 000 KWR for those between the ages of 14 & 19 and 4,500 KWR for those 20 years and above. Other facilities on the Lotte World include a restaurant and dining facilities and washroom facilities. The Folk Museum at Lotte World is connected easily by the Seoul Subway system Line 2/8 Exit 4. Do remember to alight at the Jamsil Station. The Lotte World Folk Museum takes us through even the prehistoric period of teh region. Starting from the Stone Age right up to the recent history miniatures and models have been put up here. Shows of General Yi Sun-Sin's war and Joseon Dynasty's arsenal etc are all on display here. A model of an authentic Korean village has been set up.
