Seoul National Science Museum

As because the National Science Museum was shifted to Daejeon, the need to set up a new museum that could succeed the various scientific needs of the society the Seoul National Science Museum was opened in 1990. The main aim of the Seoul National Science Museum is to promote scientific and technological knowledge for developing the various kinds of scientific and technological programmes. In fact there is a provision where locals can register themselves for these programmes.

The museum is a nice place to satisfy all your inquisitiveness. There is large exhibition hall that operated various science classes and computer classes. You can also enjoy a scientific movie theatre where different shows are regularly shown.

The Seoul National Science Museum that spreads over an area of 1,65,000 square meters of floor space is place where kids get a chance to learn about the curious facts revolving round science from practical experiences.

The museum displays rare collections of fossils, ores and different types of insects that belong from various parts of the world. While the third floor of the six- storied building houses a concert hall and the fourth a library, the fifth floor houses an ocean exhibition hall.

The Seoul National Science Museum is located at Waryong-dong of Jongno-gu.

Admission
  -   Adults require paying 1000 won and for groups that consist of minimum 30 persons require 500 won.
  -   Students and juveniles are require paying 500 won and for groups it is 300 won.

Opening hours
The Seoul National Science Museum is open for public viewing from 9:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the evening from the march to October.
In the winters that are characteristically marked from the months of the November to February the museum remains open from 9:30 to 4:30 pm.
The museum remains open on all days excepting Mondays and the day following a National Holiday.

Getting there
The Seoul National Science Museum can easily be accessed from Hyehwa Station (Line 4, Exit 4).
