Seoul Forest

The Seoul Forest in Seoul was created on 350,000 pyeong of land to help satisfy the residents' desire for usable green space. There are more than 400,000 trees and 100 different kinds of animals that can be found in the park. The Seoul Park is divided into five different districts Cultural Art Park, Ecological Forest, Nature Experiencing Studying Field, Wetlands Ecological Field, and Han River Waterside Park. Some of the areas in the park include an an outdoor stage, Seoul Forest Square, ecological play ground, butterfly green house, bicycle roads, and walking paths.
There are five theme areas in the Seoul Forest. The Cultural Art Park lies to the center of the forest and is a park where there are facilities for performances and facilities for leisure and sports. The space is well balanced with shade, foliage, flowers, and trees. An outdoor stage covering an area of 8,000-pyeong of grass field is ideal for cultural events. The children can play on the thick grass field. The mirrored pond at the entrance creates beautiful scenery which reflects Eungbong-san and the thick forest across the pond. The area also contains a restaurant, a water side park, children's play ground, and skate park.
At the Ecological Forest in the Seoul Forest is where visitors can get to see wild animals from a close range. There are about 90 wild animals that include 8 different types, including roe deer, elk, mandarin duck, and mallard. You will also come across a pond, hill and a habitat for wild animals. A feeding place was built for the safety of visitors and animal protection.
Nature Experiencing Studying Field is an insect botanical garden made of a glass dome with a wild flower garden, event field, and forest. A Wetlands Ecological Field is also there at the park utilizing the existing natural environment of the reservoir. There is also an ecological playground, wetlands flower garden, and bird observatory within the Ecological Field.
Han River Waterside Park is located to the south of the Seoul Forest where visitors can take a Han River cruise from Yeouido or Jamsil and bicycle roads to venture into and around Seoul Forest.
The park is open throughout the year and open 24 hours a day. Admission to the park is free.
