South Korea - Daegu - Incheon - Jeju - Seoul - Daejeon
Seoul is a land that people love to discover! With a wonderful combination of tradition and modernity, with skyscrapers on the one hand, and palatial heritage buildings, Seoul is gradually becoming one of the most favored tourist destinations among many international tourists. Of the many places of interest, and attractions spread all over the city are the numerous ancient palaces that date back to ages past. One of these is the Unhyeon Palace, Seoul.

The Unhyeon Palace, Seoul used to be the private residence of Heungseon Taewon-kun, the father of King Kojong, of the Choson Kingdom. Excepting the gate at the front, the Unhyeon Palace, Seoul is representative of the structures belonging to the last days of the Chosun Dynasty. Some of the structures still standing here are the Noan-dang, Norak-dang, and Iro-dang, as well as Yongno-dang (a separate building in the north).

At the time before the wedding of King Kojong, the Unhyeon Palace, Seoul was called by the name of "Palace of the Queen", as the preparations for the wedding happened here. The future queen resided here during the time of preparation, and was tutored in her potential duties as the Queen.

The Unhyeon Palace, Seoul, or the Unhyeon-gung, was once used by the National Congress, but is now being used as an exhibition area for traditional art performances, modern dances, and creative dances. There is a relic museum and the Unhyeon-gung Arts Museum within the Unhyeon Palace, Seoul. On Sundays, there is the Sunday Art Concert held here, at Unhyeon-gung's large yard.

Of course, the most wonderful thing to witness at the Unhyeon Palace, Seoul, is the re-enactment of the Royal Marriage of King Kojong and Queen Myongsong, which is re-enacted twice a year. This major attraction draws thousands of people from all over Korea, as well as from around the globe.
