Gangnam (Shopping)

South Korea - Daegu - Incheon - Jeju - Seoul - Daejeon
Seoul is the capital and the largest city of South Korea. Shopping in Seoul is one of the popular activities which tourists like to indulge in. The city is home to numerous markets and wonderful shops. One of the most popular among the markets is the Gangnam (Shopping), Seoul.

The meaning of the word `Gangnam' is - `south of the river'. With the outward expansion of the city of Seoul, Gangnam has stood to represent the newly formed parts of Seoul. The Gangnam Market is situated in a very convenient location. It is near the junction of the blue (#4) and green (#2) lines, which form the subway of Gangnam Station. That makes Gangnam (Shopping), Seoul a place that can be reached at from almost any corner of Seoul.

The Gangnam (Shopping), Seoul offers visitor and foreign tourists with lots of shopping options. The Gangnam (Shopping) area boasts many shopping arcades and stores that are more spacious and wider in comparison to the other shopping areas located to the north of the river. Gangnam (Shopping), Seoul also offers a clean environment to shop in. Many of the shops and stores have been newly set up. With such an infrastructure, the shopping arcade invariably attracts the younger section of the crowd. There are well known shops and stores that sell mobile phones, snacks, jewelries and a huge variety of other things. The sidewalks are usually crowded with small scale shops offering cosmetics and trinkets for sale. This sometimes is a quite a worry, as the shoppers are left with only a little space for walking.

Besides shopping, you will find numerous cafes, coffee shops and restaurants that are lined across on the either sides of the streets. These shops remain opened for a longer span of time, whereas the other medium and big-scale shops and stores tend to close down by 11 P.M at night. The underground arcade shops are cheaper than the stores above the ground and give you a chance to bargain with a deal.
