Bordered by hundreds of shops these markets deal with goods like electronic appliances, garments and clothes, fresh fruits and vegetables and even raw fishes. Providing a welcome break from other markets that sell everyday items; Janganpyeong Antique Market is a unique market in Seoul that sells all kinds of curios. Janganpyeong Antique Market in Seoul is made up of over 150 stores. All the stores sell authentic antiques. This is the best place to shop for old furniture, paintings, ironware and even old and outdated iron chests. The paintings done by Korean artists are really worth looking at. You could also possess one or two pieces of Korean curio items from these shops. You should however be cautious. Though the items sold at this market are generally authentic; there are some fake items as well. So before buying one, try to be very sure about its origin from the informed people. The original items at Janganpyeong Antique Market in Seoul naturally command high prices. Depending on the material and age of the antique, the prices can very well skyrocket. However if you are not rich enough to buy genuine items, do not worry as the shops at this market sell reproduced versions as well. The shops generally remain open between 10 am and 8 pm. There is however no trading done on Sundays. Easily reached by traveling along Seoul Line number 2, this market is worth exploring.
