Japanese cuisines are also one of the hot favourites among the natives as well as foreigners here. Kong Restaurant is a cozy little Japanese dining lounge/Sake bar in Cheongdam Dong and has decent food in a cool space. The interior features dark wood walls with colorful silk wall hangings. You can recognize the outside by the long white mod sculptures which decorate the front window. Kong has the kind of dark atmosphere which probably looks better at night. Chain mail curtains separate spaces. The place sometimes plays sleepy background music. Though the interior is in very good 'design', lunch is still a good value. The menu of this restaurant is varied. Here you can find simple yet mouth-watering Japanese dishes served in a friendly atmosphere. The Japanese food here is known for its simplicity and fresh taste. They have daily specials like thinly sliced marinated pork over a bed of rice and veggies served with a side of miso soup. The main courses for dinner can run up to 20,000 won. The food looks like something you could get in a mall food court, but the quality is obviously much better. The Wine list has some good quality choices. The menu, though artistically styled, is not available in English. Kong is on the street that goes from Designer Club to the Luxury goods street. The restaurant is located near the Tribeca club. We advise you to make your reservations to avoid rush.
