- History says that during the Goryeo Dynasty, the Buddhist monk, Wonyung refurbished Muryangsujeon, which was taken up for reconstruction many times later.
- According to the famous legend associated with Buseoksa Temple in South Korea, when Priest Uisang came to Dang, a dynasty of China for academics, then he met with Lady Seonmyo. However, she killed herself by drowning in the sea when Uisang told her that he would return to his country.
- Seonmyo turned into a dragon after her death and went to Silla to protect the priest. It is said that when Uisang was encountered by a crowd resisting him from constructing Buseoksa Temple, Seonmyo threw up stones in the air.
- Legend adds that since the stone was flat and broad, the temple was given the name of Buseoksa Temple.
- There are 108 steps between Cheonwangmun gate and Anyangmun gate in the temple, which stands for liberation from misery and vice through 108 cycles.
- Don't miss out spotting the Three Story Tower and a pavilion called Anyang meaning 'entrance to Heaven'.
- The main building of Buseoksa Temple is Muryangsujeon, a wooden building made in the Goryeo Dynasty, which will impress you with spectacular curved lines.
