South Korea or the Korea Republic is an East Asian state on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula. It is bordered to the north by North Korea or Democratic People's Republic of Korea with which it was united until its division by the Soviet Union and the United States in 1945. The land has a long history of over 4,000 years including several fallen kingdoms and dynasties.
This is a land of myriad natural attractions which draws legions of tourists visiting South Korea from all over the world. The valleys, lying between majestic hills, are carpeted with lush green and surrounded with breathtaking beauty. The high and mighty cliffs stand shrouded in centuries-old mysteries and fascinating legends associated with them. These mountains and the valleys and the lovely trails are just too perfect for mountaineering, hiking and walking. There are even several ponds all beautifully surrounded by swaying oak trees, maple trees and Korean pine trees. There are several wonderful waterfalls tucked along these high lands, rippling and rushing down in white streams. The marvelous scenery which is created out of this natural concoction is an experience in itself to behold.
