Picos de Europa: The rugged limestone mountain range of Picos de Europa in Northern Spain is famous for its divergent and colorful wildlife. This hilly region is home to 1400 types of plants, 70 species of mammals and 154 butterflies. The avifauna of the area including the majestic golden eagles, griffon vultures and sparrowhawks entice birdwatchers to watch these rare birds. During May to July the floral delights of the meadows teeming with varied orchids offers a splendid view.
Sierra de Aracena Natural Park: Situated in Andalucia region this natural park supports a wide range of flora and fauna. The natural habitats are woodpecker, crested tit, woodcht shrike, various types of butterflies and myriads of nightingales. At Gruta de las Maravillas you can watch the cluster of amazing limestone formations known as stalactites and stalagmites. You can also visit the plains of Extremaura near Portugese border flaunting a fascinating population of varied birds such as Montagu’s harrier, roller,
great bustard and lesser kestrel.
