Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona is one of the major tourist attractions of the city. The park is at Passeig de Pujades of Barcelona. Parc de la Ciutadella is located at the site, which was in the earlier times the military fortress of Felipe V. It is a beautiful park that gives the tourists some time to spend in a quite atmosphere, away from the hustles and bustles of the city traffic.
It was in the year 1870 when the citadel was transformed into a park and prepared to host the 1888 World Fair. Tourists can stroll around the park to see the small lake lying in the center of Parc de la Ciutadella. Beside the lake, there is fountain Cascada. It was built by Josep Fontsere. He was assisted by Antoni Gaudí. The Catalan parliament building and the city zoo are also near the park.
Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona opens for tourists and visitors daily on 10 o’ clock in the morning and closes immediately after the sun has set. Getting to Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona is not a big deal. Tourists will find train from the nearest station of Arc de Triomf / Barceloneta.
