Barcelona is the capital also happens to the second largest city in Spain. Architect Rubió i Bellver belongs to the final generation of modernism or Catalan Art Nouveau. Bulk of the work which he did was after 1900. He was an avid follower and collaborator of Gaudí, with whom he worked until 1905. He was one of the most important codifiers of his master’s architectural ideas, promoting the current which would later be known as “Gaudinism”.

Rubió i Bellver for his own part had created a number of notable buildings in the city of Barcelona. Some of the notable buildings he made in Barcelona the Macari Golferichs houses (1901) in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, the house of Isabel Pomar in Carrer Girona, the Frare Blanc in Avinguda del Doctor Andreu, the Manuel Dolcet house in Avinguda de Vallvidrera and the churches of the Industrial University and the Foment de Pietat organisation. Rubió i Bellver was also the chairman of the Artistic Circle of Sant Lluc from 1904 to 1906 and from 1912 to 1914.
