Sevilla Football Club is a Spanish professional football club who play in the top-flight Spanish La Liga championship. The club formed on October 14, 1905 is the oldest football club in Seville, and the second oldest in Andalucia. The club boasts of being the current holders of the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
The Civil Governor of Seville officially declared the formation of Sevilla F.C on October 14th, 1905. The team played its first official game against Recreativo Huelva in 1908. The club also enjoys a long tradition in European football, being the first Andalusian club to play the European Cup (now known as the UEFA Champions League). Seville received the UEFA Cup on the 10th of May 2006 and won the UEFA Super Cup on the 25th of August 2006.
