San Pablo Airport in Seville

Spain - Barcelona - Seville - Valencia - Madrid
San Pablo Airport in Seville was established in 1914 when a permanent aerodrome was established on the land used for an air show. This place was also the site for the first flight between Europe and Africa. The present terminal was opened in 1989. The architect Rafael Moneo designed the structure with three traditional components of Seville culture as the inspiration -- the mosque for its vaulted arch concourse, the palace for its expansive blue tiled concourse and the orange trees in the airport grounds. In 2004 2.7 million passenger movements were recorded increasing at a rate of about 15% per year.
