The celebration of the Cava week begins with the inaugural addressing and then the crowning of the Cava Queen. The queen comes in her royal carriage with her hand maidens and they are escorted by the Barcelona police. After the crowning she is given a glass of Cava by the Sant Sadurní Fellowship. Afterwards, the masses go to Torre-Ramona, where, in the headquarters of the Cava Fellowship a dinner is organised.
Each day of the celebration of the Cava week contains dinner parties. If you want you can take part in the 300 person bicycle race or visit the art exhibition dedicated to Cava. Even if you do not enjoy the folk music concerts of Catalunya or the traditional gourmet dinners but one thing you will surely enjoy i.e. the Barcelona train ride. In this interesting Barcelona train ride on 12th October each year about 1,000 people board the Cava bound train for Sant Sadurní d'Anoia from Barcelona. They are greeted by carnival characters in the station and from there they are taken in a procession to the town hall of Cava. Then they are taken for a guided tour of the cellars of the town, have sumptuous lunch, enjoy the ensuing concerts and afterwards return to Barcelona.
