Spain has four 'official' languages. There are several unique languages spoken in Spain besides the predominant Spanish. These include Catalan, Valencian, Castilian, and Gallego. Each of these languages has different pronunciations and spellings. Additionally, the native language of the Basque region is called Euskera. It is not a form of Spanish, and its origins are unknown.

There are many radio broadcasting stations in Spain like AM 208, FM 715 etc.


Print and TV
Spain has newspapers which cover both national as well as international news. All newspapers with national coverage are (El País, ABC, El Mundo etc.). The papers Diario de Sevilla, Correo de Andalucía and Diario de Andalucia cover local issues and cultural events.
El Giraldillo is a local listings magazine with monthly issues. Several new free newspapers can be found throughout the city, such as El Metro, 20 Minutos etc
There are many television channels in Spain which cover international news and others which cover national and local news. The channels are like Giralda TV, Canal Sur, Tele Sevilla, Sevilla Television etc.


Telephone
The country code of Spain is +34. The Toll Free numbers within Spain are 900 XXX XXX. The telephone system in Spain is still dominated by the formerly state-owned Telefonica. The mobile telephone market is much more competitive than the Land line market. Prices for land lines are more expensive relative to the U.S. and other European countries.

Public Telephones
Spain has many street pay phones and they are easy to use for both international and domestic calls. The phones accept coins and/or telephone cards. Phone cards can be purchased at tobacco stands and newsstands.

Mobile Phones
Spain uses GSM 900/1800 mobile phones which is compatible with the rest of Europe. You can buy a mobile phone with debit card starting at around 60€ in any store of Movistar, Vodafone or Amena.
Or bring your phone with you and just buy a Spanish SIM-card for 18€ with 12€ worth of calls included (current price at Amena).

Internet
Internet facilities are also available in Spain. There are many internet service providers present in Spain.
