General Spain Tourist Information:

  -   Usual shop - 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
  -   Banks - are mainly open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
  -   Museums - hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Sundays and holidays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Museums close on national holidays.

DRIVING IN SPAIN
Officially an International Driver's license is needed if you are not a citizen of European Union. Minimum Age for driving is 18 to rent a vehicle but preferably you should be 21.

Money and Currency:
The official currency of Spain is Euro. One Euro is divided into 100 centimes. There are eight different coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 centimes and 1 Euro and 2 Euro. There are seven denomination of the bank notes: 5,10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euros. The rate if exchange varies everyday.

Taxes and Tax Free Shopping

A 7 percent non refundable V.A.T. (Value Added Tax) tax is added in all restaurants and hotel rooms.

Tourist can get hold of Maps, brochures and information circular free of charge from The Tourist Offices of Spain. Additional guides and maps can also be picked up from retails stores or local tourist offices.
