The contemporary centre of Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno (IVAM), Valencia presents an extensive display of 20th century Valencian artwork. The collection is spread over two nieghbouring sites in the huge museum premise, namely the Julio González, founded in 1989, and the Sala de la Muralla set up quite recently in 1991.
The Julio González Centre of IVAM has been built and named in the memory of the leading modern Spanish artist. It houses nine display galleries of which one whole gallery showcases only Julio González paintings. While the other galleries of the IVAM in Valencia display paintings and sculptures by other equally celebrated artists like Ignacio Pinazo ,Tà pies, Chillida, Arroyo, Paul Klee and Millares and some others.
The other building of the Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno in Spain houses numerous temporary exhibits. Thus in this way the Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno, Valencia also acts as a major platform for all the debutant local and national artists. Apart from this the Instituto Valencia de Arte Moderno, Valencia also hosts talks, courses, workshops and publishes several journals. The Museum ground also has a memento shop, book shop, library, archive, a library of photographs and a coffee shop.

Admission: Entry charged but free on Sundays, Wednesdays for Fine Arts students, disabled persons, retired persons, unemployed persons, large families, tourist guides, and children under 10 years, with ID.
