Valencia the city of art, science, culture and architecture has another jewel added to its crown, L'Hemisferic, Valencia. It is one of the newest among the Museums in Valencia. Being a masterpiece by the genius designer of Spain, Santiago Calatrava, the architecture is truly innovative. Inaugurated in April 1998, the premise of the L'Hemisferic,Valencia is like a confluence of all contemporary forms of cultural and scientific activities under one roof. L'Hemisferic, Valencia is known for it unique architecture. Santiago Calatrava has developed it in the form of an eye. This is quite symbolic because even the opening of the building looks like the lid of an eye, making it like the eye of wisdom and learning. Within the entire site of the L'Hemisferic, Valencia, Spain are housed structures like an Omnimax Theater, the Science Museum, the art museum called the Palacio de las Artes and an oceanographic park. The Theater of L'Hemisferic is housed in the globe like structure of the eye. The use of aluminum is predominant in the construction being shaped into arches, vaults and stairways which are occasionally paused by the use of translucent glass panels. The entire setting of the L'Hemisferic, Valencia is extremely modern and very bold in appearance. The one stop museum, L'Hemisferic, Valencia has an astronomic projector system which presents the same effect as an IMAX. The images produced are very clear accompanied with an equally effective sound system. Apart from this the display at the various exhibition halls of the museum are very fascinating and cover a large number of topics. Admission: Entry fee charged but several concessions and discounted packages are also available.
