Colombo is the capital city and commercial center of the country of Sri Lanka. Located in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka lies to the South west of Bay of Bengal and in the south east of the Arabian Sea. The country of Sri Lanka is positioned between 5 and 10 degree north latitudes and so is blessed with a warm climate. On the whole, the average temperature for the country ranges from 28 to 30 degree Celsius. January is the coolest and May the hottest month. With the country enjoying such a favorable geographic location and a perfect climate to match, the capital city of Colombo has been registering a great tourist influx.

Moreover Colombo's location on the prime East West Sea trade route makes it a busy sea port accessible by the traders and the tourists alike.
