While visiting Colombo for a short business rip or for a long holiday, the immunizations and proper vaccinations should be taken against the following diseases. Cold drinks with ice or uncovered fruit is better to be avoided. The food taken should be fresh and properly cooked as cholera and diarrhea are common ailments. Fishes like Barracuda should not be consumed. Care should be taken more in case of children and pregnant women traveling with you.
- It is advisable to travel with a handy packet of medicines while traveling. Antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and antiseptic creams are an absolute necessary.
- Protection should be taken against minor scratches and insect bites. To ward off the hazard of Malaria, repellants should be carried along. The body should be well covered and hats are important to fight the heat.
- The medicines that you would be carrying should be properly labeled. It is better to carry prescriptions and a doctor's report if you are under medication for a long time. A medical insurance will definitely help at time of emergencies.
