its fish market. Every day in the week excepting on the Sunday, a fish market
is held in Negombo. It is full of colorful fishes. One can see a vast expanse
of sea shore being covered with small species of fishes. The fishermen use the
sea shore for the drying purpose of their fishes. The fish market is held in
the down town near the Old Dutch Fort Gate. It is at a short distance from the
main tourist area of Negombo.

are found very close to the large hotels. These stalls have a collection of
