The Bopath Ella, Sri Lanka is a striking waterfall nigh to Colombo with a height of approximately about 100 feet or 30 meters. Bopath Ella, the name is self explanatory of its beauty and shape. The name has been derived from its heart like structured head, resembling a Bo leaf of the sacred Bo tree. Bo is a tropical tree under which Lord Buddha had attained enlightenment. Path comes from the word Pata that means leaf. The waterspout has three separate showers that put forth a visual aspect of the rounded structure of the Bo leaf. The fall originally has its fame for this absolute beauty of the natural form. The Bopath Ella though closest to the capital of the country cannot be seen from the main road.
