The Volleyball in Taiwan is administered by body known as the Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association. The men’s volleyball team of Republic of Taiwan has not fared too well in the world circuit. Its best performance in Volleyball World Championship has been in 1986 when it secured 15th place. The women’s volleyball team of Republic of Taiwan has outdone the men’s team in terms of performance in the world arena. In 2002 Volleyball World Championship, the women’s team came 12th. The proud women’s team also brought home a bronze medal in the 2006 Asian Games. Some of the famous volleyball players in Taiwan are- Chen Mei-ching- plays as an attacker in the Chinese Taipei women's national volleyball team. She had represented National Taiwan Normal University in World University Games and was part of the winning team in 2005. Kou Nai-han- is a member of the Chinese Taipei women's national volleyball team. Kou too is an attacker. Szu Hui-fang- is another regular member of the Chinese Taipei women's national volleyball team. Having started playing tennis right from the age of ten, Szu has solid technique. She plays as the libero. In 2006 FIVB Women’s World Championship, Szu was adjudged the best digger.
