Sports in the Republic of Taiwan receive ample support from the government and
the sponsors. The government's untiring efforts at improving the sports facilities
are bearing fruits as Taiwan is making its mark in the different fields of sports
in the world.
Some of the Basketball Venues in Taiwan are-
Chengching Lake Baseball Field- is located in Niosong Township in Kaohsiung
County. A multi-use stadium, Chengching Lake Baseball Field is the biggest stadium
in Taiwan. It was opened in 1999.
Chiayi Baseball Field- is located in Chiayi, Taiwan. The stadium was
built in 1918 and last undergone many renovations. With a capacity of 10,000
people, Chiayi Baseball Field usually holds Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Douliou Baseball Stadium- is located in Douliou City, Taiwan. It has
a capacity of 15,000 people and was opened in 2005.
Some of the football grounds in Taiwan are-
Chungshan Soccer Stadium- was established in 1989. It is a multi-use
stadium and can accommodate around 20,000 people.
Taoyuan County Stadium- is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Though used mostly
for football matches, the stadium has athletics tracks as well. It has a capacity
of 35,000 people.
Kaohsiung County Stadium- is located in Fongshan City. A home ground
of the Taipower team, Kaohsiung County Stadium can accommodate over 18,000 people.
Taipei Arena- is located in Taipei, Taiwan. It was opened in 1950 and
closed in 2000. It was reopened in 2005. The auxiliary arena is used by The
Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey League.
Indoor Stadiums
Yunlin Indoor Arena- is located in Yunlin, Taiwan. An indoor arena,
Yunlin Indoor Arena can hold over 10,000 people. Sports events like basketball,
volleyball and batminton matches are held here.
