Double Tenth National Holiday Taiwan
The tenth of October is marked as a red letter day in the history of Taiwan as it is considered the birthday of the republic of China and every year the day is specially celebrated to commemorate the uprising by the great leader Wuch’ang,some hundred years or so ago.
To celebrate this particular day people from Taiwan as well as the Chinese people from all over the word usually come together to celebrate the birth of the nation and the great strides that the country has taken in the recent years.
The celebration usually takes place in front of the presidential office building in the afternoon and is attended by all and sundry including important dignitaries like ministers and foreign diplomats.
The President generally addresses the nation and troops are usually paraded, it a celebration of nationhood and a reminder to the world about the military might of the nation. The national day parade is usually followed by a public parade which includes a cross section of the society along with some regular entertainers.
In the evening and night people generally resort to bursting crackers and there is even a National Day Fireworks display which lights up the major cities of Taiwan in a big way.
The national flag is displayed all along the major streets of Taiwan reminding one and all about the great country in which they are living.
