The East Asian island of Taiwan is located off the south eastern coastal region of China, across the strait of Taiwan. The climate of Taiwan is usually oceanic as it is as island along with having an influence of the sub tropical monsoon. The summer season in Taiwan lasts from the month of May till September and December ushers in from the month of December till February. The average temperature recorded in the lowland during the month of January is 16degree Celsius in the northern region and 20degree Celsius in the south. The season lasts throughout the year but the elevations that are above 1,200m sometimes faces snow and frosty atmosphere. The rainfall recoded in average is 257cm. the rainfall varies from127cm that occurs at the mid region of the western coastal region, to 635cm or above it on the mountain slopes that are exposed. The monsoon winds coming from the southeast directions blow in the area from the month of May through the whole month of September. Similarly, the winds from the northeast direction blow from October till March. The region in the extreme south west of Taiwan experiences a dry season throughout the year and is almost devoid of the showers. The tropical cyclonic storm that originates in the western Pacific, Taiwan experiences typhoons between the months of juke and October. The best time to visit Taiwan is the months from October till December which is considered to be the most soothing and pleasant months.
