When it comes to listing the most beautiful places in northern Taiwan, Wulai is definitely one of the first names to be spelt. Nestled in the intersecting chains of Nanshi Creek and Tunho Creek, Wulai houses a host of wonders for its tourists. Wulai is inhabited by the native group of Tai Ya people, whose traditional culture and lifestyle add to the charm of the place. The tiny mountainous village in the Taipei region is blessed with a scenery that draws in crowds of tourists to savor the serenity. Attractions in Wulai: The natural landscape of Wulai gives the place a number of wonderful locales to visit. Wulai is noted for its hot springs. In fact, it is these springs that have given Wulai its name, as the word means ‘hot’ to the local tribes. The hot springs here are gushing puddles of carbonic water that is believed to heal dermatological problems. The Wulai waterfall is a thundering flow of water that falls from a height of eighty meters. The waterfall is seated in a picturesque nook lush with mountain vegetation. An interesting feature of Wulai is the trail train which initially used for carrying lumber, but now serves as a fascinating ride around the town. Equally interesting is the cable car ride to the top of the mountains. The Aboriginal culture Center is a museum highlighting the folk arts of the native Tai Ya tribes. Featuring artifacts used by the community, the museum is an authentic place for understanding traditional culture. How to Reach Wulai: Wulai is an enjoyable bus ride that takes around forty minutes from the Xindian Station.
