Time Zones of Taiwan is calculated keeping Greenwich Mean Time in mind. Greenwich is a place located in England and since the year 1984, the Greenwich Mean Time is considered as the world time. It is also called as Greenwich Meridian Time as it is measured according to the Greenwich Meridian Line that is present at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. The huge territory of China spreads across the longitude of as many as five time zones. Earlier the time zones of the different regions belonging to China was separate but for the pat few decades, the Chinese geographical region comprising of the mainland China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong is calculated under the same time zone that is eight hours ahead of GMT.
