When the bustle of the city life begins to get on to your nerves, take a trip
to the movies. Bangkok is a good place to catch up on a movie. The cinemas in
Bangkok are a pretty comfortable place and you won't mind shelling out £1
for a comfortable amd modern seat and pleasurable viewing.
In Bangkok, you can catch up on the Hollywood movie with subtitles. The cinemas
in central Bangkok screen the movies with the original soundtrack intact like
the multiplex at the Emporium. But as you move away from central Bangkok, you
have to make do with the Thai version of the films. There are a number of cinema
halls in the World Trade Center and the Siam Square area. There are new additions
being made to the cinemas in Bangkok with EGV, Major Cineplex and SF Cinema
City being the three of the major chains to look out for. Watching a movie is
also accompanied by a ritual that you might find curious, but nonetheless it
is desirable that you respect it. At the start of the movie the National Anthem
is played and the King of Thailand is displayed on the huge screen. You are
required to stand up as a mark of respect
