National Theater

In contemporary Thailand, influences of foreign forms of entertainment are quite visible. But still Thai lifestyle has not lost its connections with traditional forms of Thai entertainment. Till today bantering songs sung by villagers, classical Thai dance performances, game of takraw and temple fairs and traditional festivities are a very common sight. National Theater, Bangkok is located next to the National Museum on Na Phra That Road. In this elegant theatre of Bangkok, classical Thai dramas, Thai music bands and other types of international arts are performed with great intensity and fervor. These programs are held periodically here in the main auditorium of the building. Or else, sometimes these performances are carried out on the open air stage or small theatre. Not only this, special exhibition shows of classical Thai dance and music are also held in the National Theatre, Bangkok. Usually these shows take place on the last Friday and Saturday of each month.
