Squash in Bangkok is a keenly followed sport in Bangkok ,and the name of Royal Bangkok Sporting Club(RSBC) comes first in this connection. Squash in Bangkok, Thailand in fact started from the year 1890 when an Englishman, Mr. Franklin Hurst, sought permission from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish a Race Track and Sports Field. And in a lease was signed with Mr. Hurst by The Minister of Interior, for His Majesty The King, to set up the club. Squash in Bangkok got its stronghold when the first two Squash Courts were built in 1908 and while the last 4 was at the RBSC Polo Club in 1984. Now you will find 8 singles courts and one full size North American doubles court here at RSBC . The ones at RBSC Polo Club are glass backed and all are air-conditioned. Organized squash matches are held in Bangkok while individual players have to make arrangements for sponsorship. World Ranked players or Officials who are also invited to play exhibition matches or hold sessions .
